Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use PetChipHub (the "Website" and "Service") at petchiphub.com. By registering a pet, creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What PetChipHub is

• PetChipHub is an independent, voluntary online pet microchip registration database. It links a pet's microchip number to contact details provided by the pet's keeper.
• We do not manufacture, sell or implant microchips, and we are not a veterinary practice, an animal shelter or a government agency. We are not affiliated with any microchip manufacturer.
• In the United States there is no federal requirement to register a microchip. Some states or localities may have their own rules. Registering with PetChipHub doesn't replace any registration your microchip manufacturer, local authority or other registry may offer or require.
• A microchip can only help reunite a lost pet if the pet is scanned and its number is looked up. We can't guarantee that a lost pet will be found, scanned, looked up on PetChipHub or returned.

2. Your registration and account

• You must be at least 18 years old and the keeper of the pet you register, or authorized by the keeper.
• You agree that the information you give us is accurate, and that you'll keep it up to date, particularly your phone number and email address.
• An account is created when you register. Keep your password confidential. You're responsible for activity under your account.
• If ownership of a pet changes, the new keeper should register using our transfer option, and the previous keeper should remove the pet from their account.
• We may suspend or remove registrations or accounts that contain false information, that are used to harass anyone, or that otherwise misuse the Service.

3. Lookups and contact requests

Anyone can look up a microchip number on PetChipHub and see the pet's details (such as name, type, breed, color and description) and whether it has been reported lost. Owner contact details are not displayed publicly. Signed-in users can send a message about a registered pet. We review these messages before forwarding them to the keeper by email, and we may decline to forward any message.

4. Prices and payment

• The price of a registration is shown before you pay. Registration is a one-time payment. It is not a subscription and doesn't renew automatically.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't receive or store your full card number.
• A registration becomes active once payment is confirmed. Registrations that are started but not paid are not active and may be deleted.
• You confirm that the payment method you use is yours, or that you're authorized to use it.
• We may change our prices for future registrations. Changes don't affect registrations you've already paid for.

5. Cancellations and refunds

You may request cancellation of a registration, and a refund, by emailing support@petchiphub.com from the email address on your account. Please include the pet's name and microchip number.

Because a registration is typically processed and made active shortly after purchase, the fee reflects the work performed. Refund eligibility for completed registrations is assessed on a case-by-case basis. If a refund is approved, it is returned to the original payment method. Card refunds usually take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank. A cancelled registration is removed from public lookups.

You can remove a pet or delete your account at any time from My Account. Doing so doesn't by itself trigger a refund. Nothing in this section affects any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to register a pet you don't keep, to impersonate anyone, to collect other people's information, to send spam or abusive messages, to attempt to access accounts or data that aren't yours, or to interfere with the Website's operation or security.

7. Intellectual property

The Website's content, design, logos and software belong to PetChipHub or its licensors. You may not copy or reuse them without permission, except for personal, non-commercial use of your own registration information. Photos and descriptions you upload remain yours. You grant us permission to display them as part of the Service, for example on a lost pet listing.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available, but we can't promise uninterrupted or error-free access. We may need to suspend it for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control. We may update these terms. The "last updated" date shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, PetChipHub disclaims all warranties, express or implied, and is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for the loss, injury or non-return of any animal, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the registration concerned. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which PetChipHub's operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver of it.
